Heritage Park Meets Heritage Pig

Welcome to a pork lover's fairytale. With its woodland wonders, historic castle, tempting meals, deep sleeps and even the crowning of a sparkly-eyed prince, the historic Rocky Mountain town of Banff brought a dreamy adventure to life when it welcomed Cochon555.

Cochon555Banff

This important heritage-breed pig culinary competition to raise awareness and funds for farmers and charities came to Canada for the first time this Spring and was an instant best-seller. Every available ticket sold.

Cochon555 founder Brady Lowe, who has been staging this event for almost a decade in cities across North America, shares credit with the town of Banff itself -- a destination on the move to making its culinary mark.  Cochon555  helped raise Banff's culinary profile by tapping nearby chefs and  Alberta's fields and farms to serve a creative and healthful bounty that includes heritage-breed pigs. Cochon555 invited local farmers, chefs, barkeeps, and producers to compete and spotlight their best in Banff on a Saturday evening this Spring.

The event was set at the historic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, an hour's drive from the city of Calgary. The trip goes fast through the Foothills and the historic gates of Banff National Park to the mountain town steeped in history and swept up in the excitement of some new and notable places now open, like Park -- restaurant and distillery in one.

Thank you, Banff and Lake Louise Tourism and Cochon555.
