Should I start with a sunrise hike, morning stretch, water aerobics, Pilates, yoga or a circuit class? So many options before a mouth-watering breakfast at 8am, where you can hardly believe there’s calorie counting. after leaving feeling stuffed.

Now is time to plan a trip to take in Mother Nature’s bountiful beauty. Gardens come in a wide variety. Some are urban pockets of color and scent, others world-famous destinations . They can turn pages of history, amaze with their beauty and at times amuse.

It was the prospect of a deep stone massage that drew me to Ten Thousand Waves. That and soaking in one of the tubs at this unique spa-centric sanctuary in Santa Fe.

They come for a variety of reasons. Many hope to get in better physical shape; others want to learn how to eat more nutritiously. Then there are those who wish to de-stress and recharge their batteries. They are women and men, mothers and fathers, who over the years have put their health on hold to achieve professional or academic success, provide and tend to the needs of their families and care for aging parents. They choose to embark on this personal journey at a place called Hilton Head Health.

It will become my wife, Kerry, and I's mantra during a long weekend of self-regulated revelry in West Hollywood. For every drink sipped at the rooftop pool of The London West Hollywood Hotel there will be an hour of cycling in Beverly Hills spying the mansions of the rich and famous.

For the record, Switzerland does not have a royal family and is actually as close as you get to a direct democracy in this day and age. But these are just details. If there was a Swiss royal family, I imagine they would live in a modern castle like The Dolder Grand, with Warhol and Dalí paintings hanging casually on the wall.

Admittedly, I’ve never heard of Lo-Wei, a unique exercise class that combines yoga, strength training and flexibility that stretched my body in ways my mind never thought possible. Minneapolis, Minnesota has some of the best cycling trails in the United States. And this isn't according to Minneapolis Cycling Magazine. (If such a magazine existed in reality.) I spent Memorial Day Weekend - exploring all there is to be had about the Twin Cities bike trails. I went north. I went south. I went to the outskirts of the western suburbs and did a few laps around Carver Park. Minneapolis has 83 miles of off-street trails, 44 miles of bike lanes, and an extensive bike rental system.
